Hi everyone my names Andy am new to the site. I have a 1990 Mitsubishi Triton with the 2.6 4g54 enigne. the problem is when i start it from cold it idles around 3 thousand rpm then once warm it will go back to normal.Any ideas of what it could be would be appreciated.

if carby its a choke setting

if injected... sounds like TPS (throttle position sensor)

its a carby, how do you find out about choke setting?

Mmm a big 85kw Carby 4G54.
As far as the choke setting goes, I have a feeling that the choke is controled by the cooling system. You may need to pull it apart. (I always tried to stay away from Carbys during my apprentiship)
