Hi all, just a quick question, my TS seems to labour hard when in drive and your foot on the brake, makes the car vibrate, is this normal? I had a 2.6 TR auto years ago and can't remember if it done it or not. I drove my old KR Verada that my niece now owns the other day and it doesn't do it. You feel like you want to put it neutral every time you have to stop, any help on how to fix this would be much appreciated, cheers Dean

Engine RPM when it does this?
"Labouring" is rather non descriptive, as far as I know, council workers do this (sometimes) and pregnant ladies do it as well. But cars?
Try to talk a bit more in technical terms.

I think you wasted your time with that stupid reply, anyone with half a brain will knows when a motor is labouring its struggling, like as in going a up a hill in too high a gear in manual, don't waste your time replying

Not trying to get your goat, but you really must be more technical in your language. "Labouring" and "struggling" are too vague, do you mean it's down on power, vibrating, shaking or rattling, or what?
What RPM at idle does it do?
Diagnosing a car problem at a distance is always difficult, you need to be more specific about the problem.
Otherwise no one can help.
As it stands, it could be:
Ignition timing out.
Dragging brakes.
Burnt exhaust valves.
- - - stopping there, the list could go on for pages - - -

OK its hard to describe, but the revs are about normal in drive at about 700 rpm so its not idling too low, its almost like the transmission is grabbing too hard causing the motor to run rough, like just think of letting your foot of the clutch in a manual with your foot on the brake, and as you slowly let the clutch out it starts to grab and puts a load on the motor, mine is like its putting too much of a load on the motor, does that make sense? its really the only way I can describe it, I think its a problem with the torque converter maybe? I don't know, cheers

I'm not too sure I bought the car last year and have done 8,000 k's sense then, I pull them out a few weeks and noticed they are the platinum type, not sure why anyone would fit them to a 2.6, I have been thinking about replacing them but haven't yet, thanks for your reply, cheers Dean
