Is there a difference in the journals and crank journals
between auto and a manual engine blocks between TM-TP
how do you tell ?

TM, TN, TP 2.6L should all be the same, in theory. lol
Only way to tell for sure is to check part numbers for the main and big end bearing shells, or have 2 cranks side by side and run a micrometer over them.

I vaguely remember there was a change to the crank pin or main diameters, large to smaller, to reduce crank/bearing surface speed, but I think this was much earlier than the first gen Magnas, possibly the Sigma 4 cylinder engines ?
Can't imagine the auto and manuals of the same year would carry different engines.
Try searching Google for the engine type and/or full engine number.
According to this website, all of the models listed have 60 mm mains.

Basically, it lists all of the 4G54 engines from the Sigmas through to the TS having 60 mm mains.

The Mitsubishi service manual for the TP series says 60mm for mains with no mention of any options.
Same for the TR and TS.
The Gregorys manual for the TM also shows 60mm mains. I don't have a manual for the TN.
Magna buff, you got a tractor!

have to find out what ran a 66mm crank
the info the guy tells me is from an engine rebuilder
the differences between manual and auto cranks is the 60 and 66 mm journals
he now says to tell the difference is by measuring the dowel holes
is either 330 or 310 mm ..........
I know the blocks numbers differ between carby and EFI
the paper work indicates it might be for a pajero / magna or commercial vehicle ie forklift
who knows

Not confused the 4G63 or 4G64 motors used in the L300/Delica vans has he as we had to swap motors in one last Christmas and they sent the wrong one.
There are two variations not sure now if it was a 63 or 64motor but and we had to measure the dowels up again to be sure of the correct one even though we told the measurements to them at the time of order. There is a difference because of the auto or manual options they have.
I know the early 4g54 have wide and narrow block variations but not sure if the journals differ though.
Magna motors are all the same right thru the TM on wards range. Vee

Just flicked thu the ACL catalogue and the early 4g54 have two sizes of journals.....1/1978-10/1985 Sigmas etc. Remember Sigmas were sold alongside Magnas for a while back then as well.

If the magnas were different you would have great fun converting one to manual from auto!!
