Sup guys, I need to replace the 6x9s in my Magna and just thought about replacing it all so I need your opinion, do you think these will fit in my Magna TF?, Is it worth it? And also do you have any recommended head units?

Thanks In Advance :D
Personally, I think these cadences will sound as cheesy as they look. If you want to make the best bang for your buck difference in sound quality, then my recommendation is to invest in a quality set of 6.5" woofer/tweeter splits with seperate crossover (you can get the seperate tweeter housings from a verada from the wreckers or on ebay or even from an AMC member here if you don't have a factory split system).
Split systems on the front are far and away the most critical determing factor for sound quality over rears & subs in automotive car sound.
Your factory 6x9's are good enough for now as they give pretty good bass extension and you can upgrade these at a later stage when funds permit. As a driver you will use them only for fill. For clarity, resolution & most of the volume will come via the front splits.

This is JL Audio's entry level 6.5" splits and they are worth every penny, though I would shop around including online for deals on these as you will probably find these cheaper online. If nothing else, don't skimp on the front splits they will be what the rest of the system hangs off. You can have a kickin' double 12" sub in the back & the best seperates rear speakers all seperately amped up to the nines, but if your front speakers are sub par - it taints the whole system, end of story.
Sorry to go on a bit of a rant, but being an audio buff of sorts I'm pretty passionate about these things.

Errr Yeah, what he said!
Watch the depth on 6x9 aftermarkets. Bigger magnets strike on the boot tension springs, but if you go with above advice, which is right BTW... you wont have to worry about it now...
My 6x9's aren't even connected....

Thanks for the advice, but Cadence also makes some splits and tweeters

If I get these plus the housing for the tweeters, and the speakers would that possibly work?
You being an audio buff, could you recommend any Head Units and Audio System Brands? My head-unit needs a well deserved upgrade and one of my 6x9s is busted in my car so I was thinking about replacing the whole thing :)
Thanks :D

I suppose you are just going to run these off the head unit?
What are you looking for in a head unit. BT
1 or 2 usb. Hdd capable. Upgradable to an amp later.do you have an electric antenna?
I had a jvc. It was awesome. Back to pioneer now. For the features I wanted.

How much was your JVC or Pioneer?
Besides the features of the HU is there anythingelse I need to buy?
Thanks SH00T :)

I just had a look at the jvc site, the kdr 90 bt, was about 500. But it's street price is almost half that.
http://www.ryda.com.au/JVC-KD-R90BT-Car-CD-Tuner-p/kdr90bt.htm
It's got great quality digital to analog converters, burrbrowns, time alignment coz you don't sit in the centre.
Dimmer, separate amp and antennae controls, which pioneer still don't have (rant).
Dual 1 amp USB outputs. (Should power a hard drive) Great variable displays, Bluetooth.
A full list can be found here.
http://www.jvc.com.au/car-av/head-units/kd-r90bt
And very capable of running 5 amp channels later on.
At under 300 it's perhaps a bit more than you budgeted for. But your car can only sound as good as the source it's gets signal from.
If you can solder, I'd buy the are pro harness that be soldered to jvc harness, and it will plug almost directly into your car.
You may need to attach an earth, perhaps the dimmer and electrical antenna wire separately.
The harness is app0111 by aerpro.
Other wise there is a harness that goes from the jvc head unit to the app0111 but you'll still may have wire in the extras as I mentioned before.
These are 15 each from super cheap, usually more elsewhere.

One let down about the jvc, the BT adaptor is not built in, it will occupy 1usb port, leaving you with 1 port to use.

Cool, for $250 sounds pretty good and what speakers did you run with them, the tweeters, 6" speakers and the 6x9s?

Normally I'd recommend you spend a bit more on the splits up the front. As mentioned above. But you're in the position where you need to obtain another set of rears.
Splits ( 6.5 inch plus tweeters ) are harder to install but worth the effort.

Yeah ok, so a JVC KDR-90 with a splits with housing, I still don't know which 6x9s to get can you help SH00T?

Ok, so good splits, the JVC KDR-90, I still do not know which 6x9's I should get, are those Cadence ones good or do you have a better recommendation?

Try doing a search on speaker depth, and try 'boot spring' in there as well that should give the maximum depth.
I'd just opt for entRy ones, you can upgrade to a four channel amp later. 2channels for the front, and bridge (combine) the last two channels for a doofer....
Thanks for the advice, but Cadence also makes some splits and tweeters

Problem with the cadence spilt system that you linked to is that they are 6" not 6.5" like the factory speaker housing. Unless cadence supply a downsize ring adaptor, you won't get these to fit. Those will certainly sound better than the coaxials, Cadence used to be very good years ago not sure what they are like these days. Perhaps you can do what I did back in the day, just build the system in stages if budget is an issue.
The JL audios that I linked you to would sound better than the cadences, are 6.5" and you can get them online for around the same price.
This is a link to the matching JL audio 6x9's. As mentioned previously, magnet size can interfere with the boot's cross bar. AMC member RADE has a set of these installed in his magna, so you might want to PM him and ask about magnet clearances. He says that these JL 6x9's sound pretty epic and he is very happy with them.

I swing towards the double din 7" DVD type head units either from JVC or Pioneer. I have the older JVC AVX series which I fitted nearly 7 years ago & still going strong (still looks good). Check online as you can get the higher end head units often for less than half the RRP.
http://www.jvc.com.au/car-av/head-units/kw-av70bt
This is the exact head unit that's gone into my Mum's car recently. Forget the RRP, you can typically pick these up for $400 or less brand new from ebay, amazon etc...
Don't bother with the no name brand el cheapo units from ebay (stay away from eonon). They are a waste of time & money & you'll be replacing them every 6 months/year when they blow up.
If you're going the whole hog, I would also recommend you use a quality external multi channel amp for powering your components. (Either a 5 channel amp for front/rears/sub or a 4 channel amp for front rears & a mono block amp for the sub(s) ).
Lastly regardless on what speaker system you go for, it's generally better to stick with the same brand/series for front/rears (same tonality )
Personally, I'm running the earlier series Infinity Kappas which IMO are the duck's guts for budget high end car audio. (Before all you Focal fans start up, yes Focal are better but you pay the big $$ to get into their better series).

ADM is well correct on this one.
Ditch e 6x9's in the rear, and get a quality set of fronts, splits with cross over, preferably running from their own amp.
If you like quality. If you like noise, anything less than $300 should do the trick ;)
Think of it this way, you go to a concert, live performance whatever, do you have speakers behind you? So why would you put speakers behind you in your car...
I have a pair of Rockford 6.5" power T2's fronts with tweeters, crossover, running through a Rockford amp and o.m.g. Talk about drop dead gorgeous sound.
As I say tho, if you want noise, something like that is not worth the coin. Also depends on your music too. Screamo will DESTROY something like that..
Because quality basically kills distortion dead, you don't hear noise/loudness.
I guarantee if you get quality fronts and sub powered by a half decent headunit (excess of $400, pref $700+), you won't regret it. You'll curse me for life for getting you hooked on quality!
Just do your homework :)
My system is as follows, and is Simply STUNNING:
Sony DSX S300BTX headunit (was $700ish when I got it)
http://store.sony.com/p/DSX-S300BTX/en/p/DSXS300BTX
Rockford Fosgate Power T3 6.5" fronts with tweeter & crossover http://www.rockfordfosgate.com/products/product_details.aspx?itemid=116783
Amp powering the front - Rockford Punch 300W 2 ch http://www.rockfordfosgate.com/products/product_details.aspx?itemid=225197
900W amp and 12inch sub (elcheapo-ish) also to be replaced with Rockford gear.
Do NOT underestimate the pow of quality wiring and components with that kind of equipment either.. It's pointless having speakers like that with piddly factory 2mm cable... Splash out. Gold plate everything.
Something like this system will have you jizzing every time you drive. Trust me.
Hoe I've kinda helped dude!
