I snapped mine about 2 years. Couldn't get a new one from Supercheap. (Didn't bother to get a price from Mitsubishi. Figured that would be too expensive.). So I bought a cheap $5 antenna and fitted the new telescopic section into the old base. It looks and works like new. It took a bit of ingenuity but actually wasn't too hard. Can't remember the exact details but I think I had to ream out the old plastic base with a drill bit because the new telescope was fractionally thicker.
As for getting the antenna out of the car. Thats pretty straight forward once you remove the black plastic wheel arch panel from inside the wagon. (Or maybe just remove enough screws to bend it out of the way). I cant remember if I had to cut and rejoin the antenna cable or not, but I sure didn't chase it all the way to radio.

Is it an electric antenna on a TF? If so you might not need to pull the inside off, just undo the nut on the outside at the base of the antenna, switch the radio on so it pushes the antenna all the way out, insert the end of the new antenna 'rope' into the hole, and have someone switch the radio off to draw the new antenna mast/rope in. Works on the 8-pin unit (outside nut has four slots, not hex), not sure what unit is in a TF. Replacement mast & rope can usually be got from auto elecs, might need to ring around a bit (about $30-$40 from memory).
