I'm in the process of buying, subject to approval, a 2002 TJ Advance. I was wondering if anyone knew of a good mechanic for vehicle inspections in the Parkdale/Mordialloc/Bayside area of Melbourne that might know a few things about Magnas. The car seems like a good deal from Ripponlea Mitsubishi, but I would like an independent assessment of the car.

You can get a very comprehensive inspection done by RACV who provide a few page book listing all the checks and associated problems they have found. They are very thorough but do charge a pretty penny for their work.

Otherwise Mits-fix in Bayswater is anouther option. Run by someone who likely has the most knowledge about magna's outside of MMAL. I know he does do inspections of cars and is likely known by Ripponlea Mitsy.

Ripponlea Mits are a good honest dealer. I have known Keith Giles there for many many years and just over 12 months ago bought my wife's TW from him which was a bargain. Good luck with the new purchase.

Thanks. My purchase seems like a bargain too and the guy def knew what he was talking about. But there's no service history or warranty, so just want to be a little bit cautious.
