hey all

after a fellow member posted about his temps being too high, i thought i might replace my thermostat to fix the problem(good thing i did though as it was stuffed).but the temps were still too high.the mechanics who replaced it tested all the coolant temp sensors and located it down to the cluster.

so basically what clusters are compatible with my standard loom???also i dont want a blackout cluster as last i remember i have to change a dash loom

secondly, if i recall the KE/KF had a dash clock with speed alert as well? if so, how hard would it be to put it into my TF

You would have to replace the loom for a clock. You don't want to do that.

Any TE/TF should be compatible. However there may be issues with lights if you have srs or abs or cruise.

well how hard would it be to change the clock loom?? as long as its not a dash out job.

also all i have is cruise. would a white dial sports cluster fit??

Dash out job.

It can be done with teh existing loom from the TF with the speed alert, but would be too much work and you would need another loom anyway.

KF Verada with the adjust buttons and surround is required. These are easy to get from a KF Verada, so just do that.

ah ok, well back to the clusters

would a TH white dial cluster have the same loom connectors?

Maybe try reseating the cluster, if the temp sensor goes straight to max it might just need to be reseated. I had that problem

Maybe just swap in a generic cluster from the wreckers and see if it works fine? Then invest in whatever

its not going to max, its in the middle of the center and max(just above the middle if this makes any sense)
anyway how would i reseat it?

Remove the front bezel/facia assembly, remove the cluster, reseat the top lefthand connector, put cluster back in.

Cant remember if the engine temp signal is in the connector on the left or one of the two connectors at the back.

ASFAIK TE to TJ s1 are the same connectors (different for veradas) just make sure you put the appropriate bulbs in the holders for ABS/SRS etc. Dunno what lights apply for a TF Altera

Any analog cluster will work. Get a tj sports or vrx one. Crackajnr is selling a couple.

Is this just the top loom? As in the cluster loom?
If it is just that one and not anything else then it is definitely not a dash out job. Done it many times.
I am assuming you mean more than just top loom as I know you have done this aswell..?

Upper dash loom change IIRC.

Cluster loom is really a dash out. I found clips holding the loom in place.
