View Full Version : Timing chain replacement, does the head need to come off?

I can't be bothered to replace the timing chains in my TS so I went to a very well respected mechanic in town to ask for a quote and he told me the head needs to come off to replace the chains, I'm sure this isn't the case but just thought I'd ask you guys on your thoughts, maybe its just such a shit of a job he didn't want to do it so he told me that. cheers

Head does not need to come off!! Unless it has problems of course.
Sump off, timing cover off and rocker cover off and everything is accessable!! Vee

Thanks so much Vee, I thought it was bullshit about taking the head off, the head on my car is fine, I wont bother with this guy again. Cheers
