View Full Version : Engine light showing after car being stationery for 1mth
Hi guys, my 380's engine light now displays and stays on after car being stationery for 1 month. It was started once during this time but not driven.
Car only started 2nd time i turned the key, struggled the 1st time. Tappets were also very noisy but went quieter as engine warmed and oil circulated.
Any ideas? Battery is less than 12 months old. Will the light go off eventually?
Cheers

Sounds like a battery problem? Most mechanics have the computer plugin these days that will tell you exactly whats wrong anyways. If it was anything major your car will let you know with a top speed of about 15ks
Will have to stop by Mal some time to have it checked out then. Car drives fine though.

yeah id say warning light related to battery voltage, get your multimeter out and check voltage with ignition off and refer to below figures to see how drained the battery is. The 380's are very sensitive with low batteries
100% 12.7 volts
75% 12.4
50% 12.2
25% 12.0
0% 11.9

We get alot of 380s that have had flat/disconnected batteries and they throw a crank angle sensor fault code (causing engine light to come on) we just erase the code and all is fine....dont kno why they do it tho?
Thanks guys, light went off after about 100km of driving.
