Hey guys as you will see some dick backed into my car and drove off without leaving details.
Fortunately for me a very nice individual got their rego and left me a note.
So after contacting police and insurance company, it will be fixed at their cost but I have to wait until the insurance company get their details. Oh well at least I don't have to pay.
Anyway my question is, as I am no panel beater or have any experience in that area after seeing my pic below what should I be asking the panel beater to be checking? fixing? scrutinising?
Thanks in advance.

It's only a very minor and superficial bump so I wouldn't fret about it. Leave it up to the insurance company and panel beater to sort out. Then give it a good eyeing over when you get it back to make sure everything's straight, that the panels lines up, and that the paint's good (i.e. no runs and a good feather in with the existing paint, no buffer trails, etc).

Not sure if those screws have been damaged/have done damage behind spoiler.

The screws just screw into the vrx spoiler part from the inside out thru the bar the impact might have pulled them out which will strip the thread out of the vrx lip piece.

Some one kicked my car several years ago and left a big dent in my front side panel. I tried fixing it but it didn't pop out like i hoped. I spoke to a panel beater who suggested it wasn't worth getting done by him and i should just buy a new panel. (i don't have insurance etc). I finally got around to it and found a panel which i painted myself. Much better than using filler.
Two or three weeks later I'm parked next to a white 4 wheel drive. I remember thinking as I left he'll probably hit me on the way out. Next day I notice about six white lines down my door. One thing fixed / another needs repair.
People really suck. Its one thing to to not care about damaging someone else's car but they don't seem to even care about their own car.

It's weird and disappointing that someone scratches it right after you replaced it, can understand how you feel.
I wish the engineers would come up with a solution to this. I'm thinking something like plastic panels that don't scratch easily and that remember their shape, and can be easily swapped out if necessary. The rear bumper cover on my KH is like that, quite flexible and looks as good as the metal skins.

Did some of the third gens come with METAL front bars? I only have experience with the TJ and TL bars, definitely plastic front and back.

No, I meant the painted plastic covers on the bars look as good as the painted metal panels (like the doors, fenders, boot, bonnet, etc), so why not clad the whole car with it?
But thinking about this more, maybe it would possibly reduce the energy absorption benefit that metal has during an accident.

Sorry, bit off topic. I remember reading years ago about experimental bi-metallic panels, where each panel was made up from two layers, each of a different metal or alloy. The idea was, if the panel got dented all you needed to do was heat the panel with a hairdryer and the different expansion rates of the metals would force the dents to pop back out. I guess it didn't work, or was too costly. Or maybe the car swelled up like a balloon on really hot days!!

Some new cars are made of plastic, the new mirage is.i dont think it is as strong as metal because i pushed a panel(as if i was going to tip it over) and it popped in and out

Panels are just cosmetic anyway the strength is in the chassis etc so a plastic panel that pops out when you push it is good Imo
The inner door strength etc is where it counts ie: intrusion bars!!! Vee
