What do you want out of a tyre?

Safety, good grip esp in wet, low road noise, long life. Is that possible all in one tyre?

I enquired about that exact goodyear & checked their website, it's not made in 215/55/17.

I have the goodyear assurance armourgrip on the 380 ATM, rated #1 in a choice magazine test. Worth a look.. Very Quiet and comfortable. The Stiff sidewalls on the OEM tyres give a stiff ride compared the other tyres I've had, Michelin MXV8's and these.

Then get them in a size that fits :)

Does your 380 speedo majorly over-read like most of them?

Mine was indicating 60 when I was doing 54.

I upsized the tyres to 225 55 R17 on the stock rims without a drama.

Speedo is now spot on, more rubber on the road (and noticeably better grip, especially in the wet) and it aesthetically fills out the wheels arches better.

I would never go back to the stock 215 size.

Maybe the bigger size would give you more tyre options to choose from? I got Bridgestone Turanza ER300, and have been very happy.

Do they come in 225/55r17? This size should actually make your speedo a little more accurate too.

Not sure how accurate speedo is, dont use gps. Might check it with an app on smart phone.
I'm leaning towards the Conti's. Just price matched them and got a better deal.

I have noticed the speed difference myself.
It's over by 6kmph.
I am using the stock wheels and 16" tyres.

The Eagle F1s are obviously a brilliant tyre but for daily duties I reckon you could definitely get away with less (e.g. the Michelins/Goodyears/Continentals already discussed).

I have opted for 225/55/17s on my factory rims too. I went for Bridgestone RE002s. Very happy with them but they are a performance orientated tyre. They're not noisy, but you could find quieter. Likewise, the wear is supposed to be reasonable, but they won't be as good as a 'touring' tyre.

I had a quick look on the net and couldn't find much about the Continentals. They generally make a good tyre though, so as long as you're buying for 'daily driver' duties, I reckon you'd probably be happy.

Contis are all pretty decent from my experience

I appreciate the last 2 comments since the conti's have just been slapped on. Only drove approx 6kms back to work, can already feel/hear the difference, quieter, improved handling. Will see how it goes with more driving over the weekend.
Cheers guys for the input!
