Someone posted asking how to remove water stains etc from black side bars between the doors.
Quite by accident I was squeegeeing water from my car windows this morning before setting off and the bloody handle broke and scrtached one of the black side bars.
When I got back from work I polished it out with autosolve chrome polish and 'wonderment' out came the water stains that had been there for years. Looks brand new,
Now if only I could find something to improve the look of the rubber mouldings that run over the roof front to back

I use this on all my rubber / black plastic trim / windscreen wiper arms etc, and all are better than new.

Chris,

I had a spot where one of my 'front to back' rubber moldings wasn't looking 100%.

It looked faded and worn, I don't know why.

I tried all sorts of polishes but nothing worked.

Became obvious that the paint itself had faded or worn away.

I had a can of 3M gloss black engine enamel lying around, so I gave it a try.

Made it much better, not 100% but 90%.

Gently wiped it on with a soft cloth.

Three thin coats.

yeah i used meguiars swirl X remover on those door frame blackouts and it came up awesome......... after a couple months it seems to need another hit

also the same swirl remover on the dash cluster clear plastic. Its magic stuff because its harsh enough to do the job, but light enough that it doesnt gouge delicate surfaces

that swirlex is awesome stuff.... it starts off coarse but the abrasive elements break down with each pass of the cloth, to give you that mirror effect. trust me. i have metalic black with green fleck and this suff made it pop. the scratches were that bad that i had forgot it was metallic the paint was that dull. now like glass!

JEEEZ!
Mine are pretty bad I was thinking about replacing them but not now.
I think I will try repainting them
