Just say hypothetically that I had this friend... And this friend had a 2nd Gen V6... And wanted to say... (hypothetically of course) put a DOHC 3 Litre V6 out of a New Zealand Diamante into his 2nd Gen V6.

Would this friend of mine need an F17A V6 DOHC engine out of a 1990-1992 Diamante? or would a 1995 F27A Diamante DOHC Engine work as well?

The differences in power are miniscuel (did I spell that right) the 1990 - 1992 has a 154 KW stock rating, and the 1995 has a 169.4 kw rating.

But KW's aside, this friend is contemplating turbo or engine swap... But needs to know which engine to put in :)

I'm wanting to get an engine for my TS from NZ, i'm thinking a 1/2 cut. not fussed with turbo as im not a fan of torque steer/ turbo lag and low km/l.
My biggest problem is finding someone that is willing to ship it over the ditch. Has you Hypothetical mate had any luck here?
Id be interested to share and hopefully get more assistance on this. Id be happy with the F17a 3ltr. If the 1995 is the equivalent of our 3rd gen then it wont fit as the engine orientation is reversed.

Several companies in Oz that bring stuff in direct from Japan might be cheaper and easier if they source it for you.
Eg: i could get a car from shipped japan to nz cheaper than a car shipped from Oz to Nz.Big distance difference there!! Vee
