A friend of my son has a TJ and when he indicates left or right all flash not just left or right, I'm going to have a look at it tomorrow night, they have tested the flasher can and it's not that, any other ideas on what could be causing it.

If has a tow bar fitted check the wiring

My first guess is the use of LED bulbs. Not sure if they can do that, but I've heard a couple of stories.

Next and final guess from me is a short circuit in the indicator stalk or other wiring - a multimeter test for continuity between the left and right signals would identify this.

Found it, you were right Mal, it was the tow bar wiring, he had bottomed out and rubbed the wires through.


all fixed now

Had a similar issue with my trailer plug. The left indicator wire came loose and was sitting on the brake wire. Just happened to notice the left indicator coming on whenever I touched the brake pedal. Took 30 seconds to fix.
