Ok i'm just weighing up my options here on what to do to make my car quicker, i've considered an engine conversion but that seems pretty pricey, online autos are selling pacemaker extractors for the sigma 2.6 astron engine
http://cgi.ebay.com.au/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=43807&item=2481557749
going for $285. Was just wondering if these would fit my engine or is there a place that sells magna 2.6 specific extractors for a better price? Also thinking if i get extractors i might as well do a full exhaust upgrade, 2 1/2 piping with a hi-flow muffler, just wondering what that would cost also, and if maybe theres a magical place where all this can happen at once :D. Also thinking of rigging up a CAI with K&N panel filter, what other mods can i do, in particular to get rid of the low rev range flat spots?

Sigmas are RWD so they wont fit because the way there set up.....also from what ive heard extractors do **** all on the astrons unless u go for the real expensive ones

I was under the impression that pacemaker extractors were good?

They're good, but a stock astron doesn't respond that terribly well to exhaust modifications alone.

they sound bad? like a vacuum sometimes :bowrofl:

want full benefit from ur exhaust... get a mild cam put in aswell. $300 including postage from RPW i got quoted for. i asked dave directly about that aswell. i think crow cams sell them for around the same price, but u would have to ring them to verify this.

If you keep the existing piping really it wont sound much different at all. The baffles in the muffler will still be keeping the car quiet. You might get a slight gurlgleing noise on WOT audible from inside the cabin, , but thats about it.
The extractors wont mate up perfectly with the existing piping though, might be worth going 2inch, get a high flow muffler and then youll get rid of the vacuum noise.

I noticed a gain throughout the rev range, slight but it was there. And better fuel economy.
Its like free power once its on. It will slowly pay for itself.

i got extractors on mine and a bit of top end torque gain. Only problem was fuel consumption went up the proverbial creek.
