Was just wondering how hard is it to remove the rear bar from a TL VRX so I can fit a tow bar ?

It is not hard but time consuming with the numerous amount of bolts and scrivets. Best to get an A3 paper and draw an outline of the rear and then each time you take a bolt/scrivet out, place it on the A3 paper in its appropriate position. Otherwise, after an hour or two of fitting the tow bar, you will forget where each bolt/scrivet goes.

It is also handy to have some new scrivets around incase you damage some while removing them.

My TJ didn't need the rear bar removed at all, the second hand tow bar slid right into place behind it. Your TL bar and tow bar may be different, but worth a try.

What Vlad said. It also depends on which model bar you have. Hayymen Reese have two different 750kg bars that I know of. One that bolts in with the reo bolts, the other slides into the inside of the reo and is bolted through the side of the reo.

The bar itself is quite easy, bolts around the inside of the boot and under the taillights. Scrivets under the bar connecting the mud flaps underneath. And the 4 reo bolts, one which you will need to either drop the muffler back to the flange or easier to fully remove the muffler

Muffler does get in the way, but I simply unhooked the rear hanger and pulled the box down enough to get a spanner in there.
