All fixed!
Leaking o-rings at each end of the transfer pipe from water pump to thermo housing assembly. Removing the pipe and changing the o-rings took some 10-min. The entire job took some 6 hrs.
Why so long? Check the pics – had to remove all air box stuff, harnesses, water hoses, dizzy (yes, one bolt was behind it!) etc. U can see how the cavity under all manifolds was flooded.
Tell u’s what – I was nagged when I finished 0130 on Sat morning.
Don’t u love these compact engines

And here's another pic - dunno why it didn't accept 2 aat the same time...?
The green spots are the coolant - bugger.

you sure it's not one of the hoses worn out?

That's the whole thing - I can't be sure of until I dismantle the top stuff out. Cos I cannot see anything. All I know is that that's where the coolant leaks.
If it was any of the rubber hoses etc, I would see it. If it was the lower hose, the coolant wouldn't come up the engine, in between the V.
Sigh. Pain.

Bought my car with an erodid coolent pump... at the pumps side, no point reconditioning the pump if its ****ed, since it will just ****up later down the track....

Whole unit with all pipes and clamps was $300 minus labour...
Might want to let your trusted mechanic diagnose the problemo

Good to hear all is fixed.

At least you could say your old coolant was in good shape. Nice and green, not brown and mucky

:bowrofl: :bowrofl:
Always something positive to point out - good.
But - I am planning to change the coolant anyway soon. Due to the leaks, I've been adding water, so the consistency isn't optimal. Plus it's couple of years old.
