looking to source some different crossover filters for my splits, as mine don't have the -3db (fixed wiring in the unit itself) and want to get a bit more mid-range without the tinnitus inducing noise.
i honestly have no clue where i'd be able to get them from.

What speakers and what headunit do you have? Its not as simple as just swapping out crossovers, the xovers are designed to run with the set of splits you buy them with. However if you have a capability of reducing the treble and increasing the mid via the headunit then that should serve and an ideal item.

currently running cadence XS6K splits and a pioneer MVH-155UI H/U. i know that crossovers aren't a generally interchangeable part due to rates frequencies and wattages, but as long as i could find something that sits roughly within the ranges of the speakers i figured i could give things a go. forgot about using the EQ on the H/U. might give that a go today and see if i can get a better balance.

cheers marty. i'm picking up another set of those splits as well as a new 4 channel amp from JB today. going to be replacing the factory 6x9s in the parcel shelf. if it sounds a little off, i might borrow your ears on the next cruise.
you can build your own crossovers with parts from jaycar, or source crossovers for other speakers, from ebay or similar.
yes normally crossovers are quite particular, but generally you will find most of them built 4 ohms, and crossed around 2000-3000hz range.. some of them also have selectors that could help.
