Goodaye peoples.
Was wanting to know if anyone here has used or uses a calcium car battery, and if so are they as good as lead acid battery.

Its still a lead acid battery, just changes the make up of the plates. Its considered to be an upgrade over what was used before (antimony).

From an ex battery salesman... There is no disadvantage with a calcium battery. They do need a slightly higher charge rate, however modern cars these days have no worries what so ever. If you had an old Morris however...
Calcium will last a little longer (if maintained) and handle cooler (not cold, but cooler) weather better.

Probably won't notice any difference in everyday use. I know the cheaper batteries die after 3 years, quality batteries go for longer. How this relates to construction or materials, no idea. lol
