Hey All.
The suspension collapsed on the mrs. series 1 TJ VR-X that she daily's + uses as her business car.
Mits-Fix doesnt seems to list any suspension upgrades/replacements anymore, but I was wondering if anyone here could help me out with a cost effective upgrade?
Looking at shocks mainly, maybe some springs. Dont have a huge budget.
Thanks ya'll.

Dobinson springs and Boge shocks seem to be the go at the moment.

Not a huge budget, the working family's curse. lol
If the struts have given out, giving her a choppy or bouncy ride, just replace the struts. If you are (she) is after a smooth ride and not too concerned about improving the handling much, any aftermarket brand like Monroe will do.
Look like this, more or less:

Cost? About $130 each.
If you have the time and inclination, look at self serve wreckers for a clean (ie recently installed) pair of non factory struts. You might strike it lucky.
Maybe check the "for sale" threads? Or start a "wanted to buy" one?

Monroe is factory fitment. They are also a good budget upgrade that will probably last 200,000km+ doing the grocery run and dropping the kids at school.

Thanks for the tips guys. Anyone know where to buy online. I dont have alot of time, so there is no chance I can go around to autobarn or whatever when I'm home. (I work in QLD).
I've done a few google searches already but havent found much.
Whats the going rate for Monroes and/or Boges/Sachs?

I would but I cant be bothered with draconian 'rules' the club has these days about buying and selling on the forums.

WTB's are simple as, its even pre-populated for you, perhaps you could take a look?
Its much easier to sell here than a lot of other forums.

Not sure how filling out a template and posting it in the correct section is so tedious to put you off starting a WTB thread, but anyway lol
Forum sponsor Mits-Fix sells Dobinsons, Boges/Sachs and KYB gear, and does mail order.

I'd still be tempted to snoop around self service wreckers, or ring around to find good used struts. The advantage is you don't need to swap springs over, making the job easy, and would be cheaper.
You could check the for sale section, quite a few cars being wrecked by members, then PM them and arrange transport.
(I've just put "struts" on my mental shopping list for next time I visit U-Pull-It, to see cost and availability. Maybe check out sedan and wagon rears too, can't have too many spares. lol)
