Will the stereo from the upper models...GT/VRX fit straight into the base models with the std radio ?

I gave this a crack about 4 years ago, I couldnt get it to work*, I had the MFD Stacker Console, and BT Kit, I couldn't plug the MFD into my loom...
*This was a while ago, and my skillz have very much advanced since then, So I cant rule it out 100%...

But it makes a good bump if someone knows any different....
