Hi guys,
Have my head off my TM to replace the head gasket and want to do the valve stem seals as well. I have the spring compressed but for the life of me I can't see how to remove the collet. Any help would be appreciated !

What type of valve spring tool do you have? G clamp style? I use a hammer and hit the retainer a couple of times around to break the seal and then use the tool to compress the spring and a magnet to take them out.

Not the g clamp style, the other type.If I knock the flat top of the spring down do the retainers then slide out in two halves?
