i did a wonderful job and ordered 5 boxes of "wrong" brake pads for my TJ 2000 :ninja:

the ones i got are Akebono ASP530 and Akebono ACT 530
aparently these are for verada's and some ralliart's or something.. mines were supposed to be the PBR type, i think single piston ones..

i looked all around in rock auto catalog but couldnt find any other vehicle that uses these..

anyone has knowledge which USA car uses the same pads?

(and also, i remember someone saying all TJ's should have ABS,, some weird how mine does not.. its known for sure now)

You need 1203 and 1204 in the Hendrix style numbers, has all been covered recently

I wouldn't buy heavy objects like brake pads from Rockauto, due to the postage costs involved. I just buy locally, cheapest are $25 front and same for the back on the TJ. Fine around town, haven't tried them in the hills but I imagine they would fade like nothing else. lol

Rockauto may do an exchange on the pads you bought, but postage costs could be a problem.

TJ without ABS? R U sure?

yeah i am deadsure..
no fuse on abs socket on the fuse box.
i gave the pads a good clean yesterday, before they werent powerful enough and couldnt get the wheels to lock on hard braking.
now they do lock.. and abs doesnt kick in.. it would have if i had it.. also no abs lights on dash or anything.

if i remember correctly, i did some research when i bought it, and i think abs came with cruise control package.
so any magna those years that has cruise control, should have had abs as well..
what i didnt know is, my car had an aftermarket cruise control. its on the left side and looks different than the stock one.

posting anything from Australia to overseas is a killer postage.. pads being heavy i think i would have to pay nearly two hundred bucks.
its much more sensible to re-sell these pads here.. as any equivalent quality to these parts cost around 250 bucks here. could even make some profit on the process

what pads are needed for the car has probably been covered, i was able to find some threads about it.

but what other cars use these same pads, has never been covered and i was unable to find any information on anywhere on internet.

have been researching all day, and it seems like these pads are only used in Australian cars, and there is no chance to find these in USA

Mitsubishi had different variants when it came to their models, I have a 2002 TJ and I was told I SHOULD have abs, cruise, climate, and SRS, all I got was SRS and ABS. and from the looks of those pics, you don't have ABS

yes.. i think a reliable way to determine these packages is the insurance companies.
they got everything in their database.. i remember figuring out back then.
i just checked again with another insurance company quote program
normally for any tj 2000, if it has cruise control, it supposed to have ABS, as these are bundled in one single package.

i got tricked with the aftermarket cruise control :P

Definitely No ABS + aftermarket cruise.

My TJ (08/2001) has ABS but no cruise. So NFI on any "bundle" idea.

Never knew options had a different on brake pads, early tj did not all have abs, most did however

Yet again, all third gen except ralliart and awd use 1203 and 1204

The pads you have either put up a pic of them or use google to serf them so you can get a cross ref number, most likely will be 1223 ads from they awd
