Does anyone know of a higher wattage or brighter globe for the parkers? I put a new pair of globes in today and it hasn’t made much of a difference – the parkers are still really dim.

I realise they’re not supposed to be super bright, but something a bit more obvious would be good to fill out the headlight.

Cheers guys.

mmmmmmm..........been covered lots before ..what did you use ? T10 white led (http://www.ebay.com.au/sch/i.html?_trksid=p3984.m570.l1311.R1.TR3.TRC1&_nkw=t10+white+led&_sacat=0&_from=R40)

I recently bought these in my quest to 'LED all the things' 20x T10 smd LED (http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/180981232557?ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1497.l2649)
They were cheap and delivery only took 10 days.

They are very bright as parkers, and nice white, only thing is that in a pack there can be 3 different 'shades' of white, yellowish, bluish, and whitish. The problem is that on their own, they are indistinguishably white, but if you have one of each in a pair of parkers, you can tell.

On the dash backlight of my magna, not matching the 4 lights left it looking splotchy, rather than uniform

If you only buy 2, it is possible that they will not match. In my pack of 20 I had 4x bluish, 4x yellowish and 16x white-white.

I found both the bluish and white look good as parkers, but I went for the bluish ones as they dont look as 'dry'.

(Dont buy the jaycar ones with 'bulb' shape plastic, they direct the light into a beam and dont spread out, only use SMD type LED bulbs)

Roger, thanks for that.

I just used another wedge bulb. I was hoping my old ones were a bit past it and had dimmed.
I hadn’t thought of using LEDs because I thought they’d look a bit lame. Still, I grabbed a pair off ebay (http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/150883093242?ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1497.l2649#ht_446wt_1170)last night. They look half decent so fingers crossed!

Dunno about the ones in the Fleabay listing, but you want ones that are no wider than 12mm in diameter otherwise they won't fit through the hole.

I've used a couple of sets that were advertised as 12mm diameter but they still didn't quite fit. I used a metal file (gently!) to round them down just enough so they fitted.

The parkers arrived today and overall I'm quite happy with how they look.

Check it:

Left LED, right standard globe.

I've got a pair coming for reversing lights on my TJ. They better be colour matched!

What did the bulb itself look like?

This is just a pic from another ebay listing, but the bulds I ended up with look basically the same.
I think the ones I got have a few more LEDs though.

Similar. $3.50 for the pair. Only 5 LEDs though, may be bright enough. Hopefully.

You are better off ordering extras as i found it a struggle to get two "whites" that match some do have a hint of blue.

Probably correct. For $3.50 they are probably cheaper than the standard globes and will outlive the car. Don't mind ordering more to get colour balance. Plenty of other spots the T10s can go.

Re: my above post.
Don't bother with the 5 LED T10s, very blue and no brighter than the standard T10 18W globes in the TJ reversing light position.

Did anyone end up with LED parkers they are happy with and can recommend?
Cheers
