Hey guys done some searching but cant find the info im after,
Ive had a long term annoying issue with both my previous TF sports & my current TJ sports.
Whenever the weather turns cold the front suspension creaks loudly over speed humps,
its definitely temperature related as ive found that in only moderately cold weather the sound goes away after approx 15min drive due to engine bay heat warming the suspension up but with cooler temps (e.g at the moment in the mornings) it creaks all the way to my work (35min drive).
Surely this must be a common issue as both my cars creaked in identical circumstances!
On my TF my mechanic thought it was the shocks so I had them changed (they were due anyway 180,000km) however it didn't make any difference (I don't think top mount strut bearing were changed though).
The TJ started doning it at around 90000km, other then this all seems/feels normal.
Im hoping something can be lubricated to quieten it down otherwise i'll need to change something, don't mind doing this but I just don't want to do unnecessary work whilst mechanics try to find the source of the creak.
Has anyone else had & sorted this problem out on their 3rd Gen?
Any help would be greatly appreciated, Thanks guys.
