Hi guys on my AWD today driving to work, had parked my car on the grass, as I was moving it i got slight wheel spin and i tapped the brake and the ABS light has come on.
To try and solve the issue I had switched the car on and off, disconnected the battery and reconnected it and unplugged the ABS unit and connected it back up, check for burnt fuses and nothing, is there anything I can do to try and resolve this issue? What do you guys think it could be? Cause its worrying me if i have to drive it to where I have to go :(

My abs light was on for a day the other day. I had a quick look and there was no issues. It just dissapeared after driving about 30km

As I said on the phone mate scan the system, is most likely a wheel sensor. ABS will auto reset the light if the condition is fixed, given that it is not fixed I would say a wheel sensor will be the issue

Well I'll take it for a spin after, if that resets than must have been something little but if ts a wheel sensor ill get that fixed.

It's happened before too, took it for a spin and disappeared so ill see how it goes.

Will the system scanner determine which wheel sensor it could be?

A scan would show up which sensor is acting up, but before you do that pull the wheels off and check the sensors. Had the same intermittent problem, turned out to be bits of metal stuck to one of the sensors. They are magnetic, apparently.

Chow, yes it will if the scanner is reasonable scanner

Max why the hell pull off wheels, risk damage to sensors which often are damn hard to get out only to find it could be something else????? Just scan the system, see what it tells you, save hours of time and $$ and fix the issue

Often if a wheel sensor is not picked up the abs light will come on, if it rectifies itself the abs ecu will clear the code on its own

Having a look-see is a second-best option if you don't have easy access to a scanner.

It will come back.

No, it is not You risk damaging a sensor when removing them as they are often rusted in (yes they have a metal bracket) and if you do damage one often the damage can not be seen either so you could then end up with multiple issues

How do you know it will come back? Can you please give me the number of your fortune teller.......often these will come up in the situation chow advised here as he may have had his foot on the brake but one or more wheels spun up on the grass leaving one wheel stationary so the ABS system assumed one sensor had gone off line
