Hi guys just noticed that the threads for my front seats have been stripped quite a bit, how do you go about replacing these? They dont look easy :(

Are welded in from underneath.

I'd say make a new thread with a tap & tie set.
However, you're going to need new bolts.

Yup, is a pita but can be done. Really helps if you have access to a spot welder
If studs are stripped how exactly is someone going to make a new thread into thin air. Stus can not be reduced in size thus still would have no thread?

Cut them out with an angle grinder. Get replacements ones from a wrecker and weld them on.

Not that simple as they are flanged underneath the seat rail on the floor

Why can't you just make a new thread? Is the bolt they strong that can't use a decent tap and die set?

Aiden, is a stud that is stripped, read the post. To make a new thread would mean machining the stud down to enable a die to be used and would require removal of the stud from the cars body. This would also leave the stud under size
