i have just purchsed a kj2 wich has the trip computer in he dash cluter.
i personally prefer it in the centre display.
my question is is it as imple as splicing into the wiring going into the back of he dash and connecting this also to my centre display? i will use a centre display plus the plug and a little wiring from a kjs1. i assume wiring is the same colour coding and therefor should be a matter of tapping into the matching wiring behind ash and connecting it to the trip computer. anyone know for sure?

I have partially done this. I am running two trip computers, but have only successfully found the speedo feed and no. 2 injector. I still need to find the fuel input and another that slips my mind at the moment.

The speed alert and average speed all work, but my fuel economy and distance to empty don't yet. The pdf of the wiring diagrams only lists around 20 wires going into the cluster when there is more like 60, a lot of which are the same colours.

It will certainly by possible to complete but will take some figuring out.

Fuel sender wire is grey. I cant get my DTE to work either. BUT, i refitted trip comp into my tf and have avg fuel working fine, litres used, avg speed, everything. I took some pics. I will see if i can find them and send them over. To get avg fuel working ita as simple as connecting two wires

Alright,

The solid yellow with red stripe from the Trip computer end gets connected into the Yellow wire on the ECU plug. See pics. By the way, not mine. MR SPL's

Any dramas murph, sing out mate :) Could have helped out today If i knew you were still having issues.
