Hey guys,

Went down to Autobarn the other day and had a regular (non-auto) antenna installed on my TL Wagon. It works with my stereo system, but when I get up to about 60-70 km/h it starts to make a high frequency humming noise. I wouldn't be posting if it wasn't annoying, but after a while it does my head in.

Anyway I looked at the receipt from Autobarn and it seems they sold me an Aerpro AP88. I had a quick look online and it says it's for Sedan only. Is that why it's Sedan only? Due to the noise?

Anyway, reason I'm posting is if anyone knows a quick fix for the noise, give me a yell. Otherwise, I guess I'll have to take it back.

No. Sedan are shorter when extended but have never heard of one making noise

Solution, not sure to be honest as is a bit odd

Alternator whine. Possibly not earthed correctly when installed.

From what I can tell it's a physical wind vibration causing the humming noise. Don't think it's an electrical issue?

OK. Try a different aerial height if it is wind induced vibration you hear. I was assuming the extra noise was from the radio speakers. lol Does it do it if the radio is off? If so, try a different extension height and check the nut on top is tight.
