yeah dude ive got pretty mech the same splits as you're getting (DSD216 older model) and ive never heard them struggling on any type of music and clear, the woofer (set on the right cross-over settings off the deck) goes hard without distortion and the tweeter is so crisp i eventually have to turn it down. Sounds like it will be a pretty go setup coming off that deck, im running mine off an Alpine CDA7893R deck through a 4x50 VNET amp, only cause there is a sub as well, but that deck sould be able to handle the splits.

Finally someone with a V-net 4x50! Do you know how much that puts out in 2 channel mode? Ive got a set of R-type 6x9s and I want to run them of my V-net, just want to know how much they'll be getting. :)

i have a set of mbquartz r3eference series splits i using them as rear fill....
the woofers dont have very nice sound reproduction and the tweeters are way too harsh...
example of how they sound is to cover the tweeter with hand and just listen to the woofer......... they not very nice at all.....
mbquartz dont like to play low frequencies or go too loud....
they dont compare to my hertz

i dont no if using a 4 channel as a 2 channel would be a great idea...
by bridging the 2 channels together you are going to increase the THD, total harmonic distortion quiet considerably.....
you would be better off getting a more powerful amp... or running it as a 4 channel

No no no, amp the splits first then get a good mono block like a Zapco 1100M and a sub ( if you get 1 good one you wont need a second sub IDMAX 12inch, DD 3512, Boston Pro 12.5lf 2 ohm should get you 147-150db off that amp), then later get rear fill if you need it.

heeheh
plan is 2 chan amp for splits, then 2 monoblocks for my 2 subs (i want DVC 4ohm subs and run them at 2ohm off monoblock amps) and run rears off head unit (they not so important :P) but thats in the future

those mb quarts are great.
i found them to be a little tweeter bright, that was until they were powered with 3 times the recommended :p
power fixes everything.

yeh, mounting crossovers is a little annoying (we decided to not put crossover in the door as we couldnt be stuffed putting wire thru the door) after that its piss, they sit in fine dont hit the window all u need is some 3mm mdf to make a mounting bracket as stock speakers are square for the mounting holes ill take some pics later of where we mounted the crossovers
