hey all
in the new vr-x the seats have had some overweight person(no offense to the fat people on the forum) on the seats for a while which has deteriorated the base and back foams.however i have the original seats from the ελληνικά magna in the garage and in good condition.
my question is have the seat shapes changed at all in those years?? my plan is to swap the drivers side seat base and back foams between the two seats.
also those original seats have adjustable lumbar support on both seats, the vrx only has it on the drivers seat.if i am in need of a foam will it be compatible with a non-lumbar support seat and most importantly, can it be retrofitted
thanks,
john

I've seen plenty of magna's in wreckers and I've found differences across the models in seats.
I know for a fact, that the TJ series of Sports/VR-X's had better bolstered seats around the edges. I had standard tj exec seats, and the TJ sports ones I now have fitted, definitely have more lumbar support and bolstering on the side. Far more comfortable, esp on long drives and holds you better in the seat through corners.
Even between a TE exec and my stock TJ exec seats I noticed quite a bit of difference. Foams still to be more stiffer and the material of better quality on the TJ. The TE seats felt more like felt than anything else. If you're willing take apart seats, then maybe look for a passenger side one. Most reasonably used Sports/VR-X's will probably have collapsed foam on the drivers side but the passenger might be in better condition.

ok thanks,
so im better off either finding a complete VR-X Seat or buying the foams if avaliable

John, look at buying Ltd Ed VRX seats. Relatively rare but worth it. Red or blue Howe leather and black fabric on verada bases. They look great and the verada chairs have much more support and padding
