I thought some of you may be interested in the project I completed over the weekend. I have an executive model with no extras but I plan on adding them over time. I have read a few posts regarding the ignition light so I thought I would post the solution I came up with.
After following the red, red/white wires from the roof light I came up with the idea of creating my own wiring which would enable me to install extra lights which would come on when the door is opened without having to replace the loom or cut any existing wires.
Firstly the red, red/white wires lead to a plug down near the fuse box under the steering wheel. You will need one of these plugs plus the matching one (male + female). These two then need to be joined. This will allow you to unplug your existing wiring plug in your new plug and plug the existing wiring into the other end of your new wiring. Where the four wires join I added in four extra wires. These are the wires which will lead to your new lights. I managed to find a set of plugs which had two wires on one side and four on the other. This split the first set of wires and the other two I had to do with wire I had on hand.
So to this I added wires which plugged into the ignition light (already installed) and wired in two footwell light holders as well as the holder for the glovebox light. I have never done anything like this before but have a soldering iron and bought some heat shrink. ( Not all of my joins are heat shrinked as it wouldn't fit over the thicker wires, but all of the joins were soldered).
Finally I wrapped everything in loads of electrical tape and that tubing stuff that protects wires from heat.
I was very nervous when I went to install my new wiring as nothing was really measured I just made it with what I had but was pretty sure it would be long enough as I got in the car and stretched it out while I was making it. I wasn't sure about earthing either but figured the existing system would have an earth.
I reconnected the battery and upon opening the door the ignition light, two foot well lamps as well as a glovebox light all lit up. They stay lit from the same time as the roof light (which also worked)
I would like to add a switch to the glove box but will look at that later.
To all of you doing similar projects don't cut the wires there is a way to plug into the existing system to add what you want while still keeping everything that's already there.
Hope this helps or give someone ideas on their own additions.

You know that you can just add pins for the glovebox, key light and footwells in that plug?

The key light in particular, if you add the correct pin, it has the correct timer.
