Firstly I want to say that I did try and sort this out before I posted here but I am barely an amateur hack. Anyway, I have been having an idle problem where most of the time the car will not idle at all and simply stall. Sometimes it wil idle fine and other times it will be a little low. I visited this thread:
http://www.aussiemagna.com/forums/showthread.php?t=98435
I then earthed the first terminal (as instructed) and the engine light started to flash. Before I could figure out how many flashes were happening and started to count it just began to flash constantly. Now I can't get it to do anything aside from flash on and off in without pausing, etc. Any ideas please folks?
Cheers!

If No Codes are present, continuous 0.5 Second Flashes will be displayed.
Problems with the ISC won't show up in the error codes.

I had intermittent idling problems as well... I went to the wreckers, looked for a late magna and pulled off the ISC. 25$ later, problem solved :)

Before looking to replace the ISC, at least make sure that the throttle body has been cleaned (which includes the air bypass channel that the ISC modulates).

I have thoroughly cleaned out mine, so I was sure it wasnt related. I guess its a bonus to have it cleaned out anyway, though his symptoms sound identical to mine. Sometimes it would be perfect, other times it would just be staying alive or even just stalling. An easy 25$ test and worst case scenario, you have one for when the ISC finally does cark it :)

Thanks for the advice folks :-) I am going to give the throttle body a clean and also replace the ISC. The cheapest I can find one online (in Melbourne) is $45 which is a whole lot cheaper than $66 here in Bendigo! Grrrrr!
After making this post I had another thought. I had recently used my Magna to jump start another car just using jumper leads. I hadn't actually started the car since I jumped the other car so am thinking that something may have happened to reset the computer??? What gives me more reason to think this is that the auto was shifting abnormally for a while. From what I understand, these Magnas "learn" how to shift depending on how they are driven. The idle seems to be holding normally now and it is also shifting gear properly too. I think I might give it a few more days to see if the idle holds before I go and buy another ISC.
Thanks again for your replies :-)
