So, today I went to move my car into my garage from my driveway, after a few hours of intermittent heavy rain.

When I got in the was a heap of water in the drivers front foot well. Now I can't figure out where it came from... The driveway is a approx 40degree incline with the nose of the car pointing downwards.

I'm thinking the rain got in at the bottom of the windscreen through the ac vent?

Any other suggestions?

It's a common issue with the third gen from what I can tell, I found these threads by searching "water leak" in this forum.

I would suggest popping the plastic splash shield off in the wheel-well and checking all the grommets there. When I ran power to my amp I went through a grommet, left it out and didn't think anything of it. Until about five minutes after driving in torrential rain....

Also, A good way of finding the source is to pop the wheel well covers off (so you can see the "drain" for the windscreen) aswell as the carpets and any trims in the car, and either pour water on the windscreen or get a hose on it. Watch where the water goes and observe for leaks.

My experience with the same water filled footwell with steep nose down parking and heavy rain was a leak I positively tracked from the top edge of the rear boot lid as per.....

If you find the water leaking from where the plastic cowl shroud touches the windscreen (this normally disintegrates over time) I simply replaced mine with a glued length of rubber tube from Clarks Rubber. No more water gets through. Best if you view my car to see what I mean.
