Hey Guys,

My 'Check Engine' light has been flashing up briefly recently and I took the car down to mitsu so they could pull the codes for me. The error is coming from the crank angle sensor, the car is running fine so it may be an issue with the sensor... The guy at mitsu told be when my regular mechanic changed my cam belt, they may have not put the sensor back properly, and that an occasional tapping noise could be the sensor hitting a metal plate which causes it to register a fault. Does anyone know if this could be correct? What issues would I be having if there actually was an issue?

Thanks Guys
Callum

can be right the plate goes thru the sensor as the motor runs and if they were not care full it could have a slight bend in it not hard to do at all the plate is pretty soft but they should have no reason to go anywhere near it if they didnt replace ur crankshaft seal but if they did quite possible.
