yeah, I took it past tunehouse. he said sounds like a shaft or mount....mounts have just been all changed so think its the driveshafts.

Thats way different to mine. Check your rotors and cv shafts or anything that could have play in it.

I havent heard of that before but if the car is driving fine give it a while and if it doesnt go away get your mech to go over it.

Diffs don't settle in....sigh
If there is an issue take it back to the place which did the job and get them to listen to it and fix it. I assume you went to a proper shop and not some shonky back yarder

Its weird, ive given it a good hammer, not enough to smash it to bits, but enough to get the thing going, the sound isnt changing..... could it be the clutch? it seems like its slightly engaged when i put it into gear, you can hear a clunk as if the clutch isnt all the way down...but it is

It accually sounds the same as the diff before, the only difference is its not getting stuck or anything...its as it starts to move....are quaifes generally noisy? ive read up on other forums they clunk and they are noisy so maybe thats just how they are? before when i smashed the diff to bits you could tell it was stuffed by driving....this though you wouldnt be able to tell the difference if the windows were up....

Like I said Matt, replace the fluid with some Redline MT-90 and see how it goes. It has special friction modifiers in it so stop the diff from making noises such as this, if it is the diff at fault. It is also a better fluid for hmmm...... lets call it, your special way of driving :).
Funny that you can only replicate the sound after shifting and releasing your clutch. I would suggest that it will go away in time, or be a minor issue picked up at your next service. If you're stressing about it, I'm happy to put it on stands and have a proper look instead of at a maccas carpark at 9pm!

if it doesnt get worse im not going to worry.....ill put some redline in it tomorrow and see how i go :)
There's no way u could off done something to your diff. I've had my quaife diff on for 3 years now and
No problems.

Diffs don't settle in....sigh
LOL!
Have you tried something simple like checking the clutch is adjusted properly? There's an adjustment behind the pedal I believe.... maybe the clutch isn't fully engaged.
That's about the best I could come up with. But, I'd be starting by looking more closely at any parts that were removed/reinstalled/installed on the car recently. Could be something really simple and inexpensive, it's be a shame to shell out cash or waste time this early in the game.

Assuming the diff was installed correctly, you could look elsewhere for the noise. CV joints perhaps? Brake pad problems?

I haven't heard any clunking noises from my diff so I'd say there is something else.
