I need to replace the strut tops on our tj awd and have a quick question. I have a friend who bought a brand new pair for his ts but it got written off before they were fitted and he has offered them to me for a price I can't refuse. Can I use these in our tj? I found some on eBay and in the ad it states they will suit from tr-tw so I assume they are interchangeable. Can anyone confirm this? Thanks for your help.

The TW strut has a normal ball end on the outside case side. On the centre rod side, there is a special bracket (a clevis bracket with offset clevis pin hole position),which is solidly fixed to the rod. The bracket holes where the pin goes through to fix the strut to the car body is offset by about 20 mm from the centreline of the rod.
Have a look at Struts Australia web site. Check through the code numbers.

Pretty sure he is talking about suspension struts, not bonnet/tailgate struts.

OP, strut top insulators are the same for 2nd gen and 3rd gen, both FWD and AWD.

Yeah I was talking about the front suspension strut tops. Thanks for that info and the quick replies.
