Hi Guys,

So awhile back i had to disconnect the battery of my VRX, ever since i did that every now and then when i accelerate to about 4k RPM and let off because id reached my desired speed there would be a clicking under the throttle peddle, almost like it was stuck, this only happend in around the first 10% push of the pedal.once the engine was turned off the clicking in the peddle had gone and wasnt there when the car was restarted.

In another unrelated problem (i think) when i would accelerate to around 4 - 4.5k RPM and let off i would loose power altogether, i would then have to pump the throttle pedal to the floor 5-6 times to regain power.

I got my friend to drive it like i did to see if he got the same problems and maybe he would have an idea of what it is, but the car worked flawlessly for him

Any help or suggestions would be great
Many Thanks
~Chris

For the clicking through the throttle peddle it could be throttle positioning sensor thats buggered? only real thing that would physically interfere there? could be wrong. loss of power I have no idea, how ever, it still could be related problem to the first problem.

Sticking, or heavy feeling in the throttle pedal could just be a kinked accelerator cable.

But, sounds to me like the MAF isn't connected.... mostly because I may have forgotten to plug mine in once and the car was pretty dead feeling. Thats assuming everything else in the car is working fine. I'd just go back over your work, check everything is connected and there's nothing out of place.

Thanks for the replys, i just opened the bonnet of the car and all looks fine (to me, its my first car so i don't know much) i checked all the connections on the TPS and checked the throttle cable for kinks and no apparent ones were. In reply to skappy, the car doesn't feel dead 90% of the time its every now and then i get these problems. i took some pics in case i missed something.

I would hazzard a guess to say that the throttle plate is sticking, being a VRX will have TCL and the throttle plate is not directly attached to the cable linkage if that makes sense

Clean the inside of your throttle body and see if that helps

thanks for the reply madmagna, where would i locate the plates? and how would i get my throttle body off to clean it, do you have any ideas of the power cutting out altogether and me having to pump the pedal to get it back?
