hi,
installed some LED lights for my cabin: (http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/180773915147?ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1497.l2649)
They work well and i'm happy.. its just when i start the car the door setting (ie. lights turn on when turn and off when you unlock and lock the car) the LED's stay on ever so faintly.

has this happened to anyone else? What's going on here? will it drain the battery?
thanks in advance for the help

Some led tend to do this, don't worry about it, the drain is so small you probably couldn't even measure it. Will not flatten your battery.

yeah., mine do this as well. It doesn't bother me for night driving. I've thought about going around all the door switches looking for crappy conacts etc, but haven't bothered.

I put a resistor across the positive and negative and this solved the problem. I cant remember the value I used, but it was around a thousand ohms or so. Pm me your address and Ill send you one if you like.

I had the same thing happen to me, I didn't like the thought of them on all the time. You need a canbus led , they have the circuitry built in to stop this. Do a search on ebay, they are of course a bit more expensive. I think the ones I got are a canbus cree led, very powerful !

Deja Vu... I installed an LED interior light a year ago in my TL Solara. I added a resistor in parallel with the LED assembly and there's no more glowing, I believe I used a 2K ohm resistor and that stopped the LEDs glowing.

As I mentioned in another similar topic, cheaper LEDs don't come with proper circuitry and will glow dim when switched off (and I have no idea why). This also happens in household B22 type fitments where especially the lower wattage (2-5W) bulbs stay dimly lit when off, as well as cheap low wattage CFLs in that they pulse every few seconds when off. Again, I have no idea why and I even had an electrician check it out and also used a multimeter to test the fittings myself. Belzawagon, get a refund from the seller and then get a proper one from Jaycar (wont cost that much more). I use one in mine and it goes off when it is meant to. It dims in a stepped style before going off.
