I have the light grey interior with the black upper half.
Though it seems it's not black, just really dark grey.
Was there a black offering or was the dark grey as close to black as it got? I see in some pictures some cars seem to have black upper trim but maybe it's just the pictures.
Also, the tan trim from the L/W series, I've heard they are just dyed tan but are grey underneath, any truth to this?
Thanks

GTV's got black uppers, I have compared my stock GTV black/light grey trims to VR-X dark grey/charcoal trims before, they are definitely not the same uppers, GTV is black. KJ GTV and KJ GTVi were only available in black upper/light grey lower trim, however at least one of the newer ones (KW GTVi if not also KL GTVi) did get all black. I am not sure if they will suit or not.

I have to disagree. The GTV didn't get a darker upper-trim.
It is the same colour throughout the 3rd gen range.
Perhaps cared for differently, or a slight discrepancy in the color of the plastic used on either build-date.

OK,
Basically, Verada colours were:
KE & F XI - Black and light grey
KE & KF EI - Dark Grey and light Grey.
KH XI - Black and light grey or black and tan
KH EI - Dark grey and light grey or tan and brown.
KJS1 & 1.5 EI and XI - Dark grey and light grey, or tan and brown
KJ S2 - Black and tan or black and light grey
KL have Black and light grey, and black and a different tan colour. KW GTVi, got the VRX black and dark grey

I don't have a photo handy but my KJ2 GTV trims, whether based on the KJ2 Ei or not (I agree they no doubt are) were compared to a set of VR-X trims I purchased from a TJ VR-X wreck for my black dye conversion. The difference between all four of them was unmistakeably and consistently very different, GTV was black, VR-X was dark grey/charcoal. I remember this specifically because I contemplated doing my spray work on the GTV trims instead of the VR-X as a black base. Even if they did come from factory the same and there was no change model to model or build date to build date (Doubtful but just hypothetically) they age differently enough that wear would not be the only factor, the material would be different anyway to facilitate that kind of wear change. So, while you disagree, your disagreement is bad and you should feel bad.

Mike, since I have the KJ2 this means the upper trim is as dark as it gets or was there darker option?
I've seen some tan interiors with what appeared like black upper trim parts but it may have been the photo and the contrast to tan.
Are the trim pieces on the doors in parts? ie, can the upper trim be separated from the lower trim?

Spetz, you can make them into 3 pieces, you can take out the cloth or leather trim and the lower carpet piece. They are only screwed in !
