Hi,
my 2.6L auto TR Manga is constantly mis-firing when accelerating.
It idles pretty well and cruising along flat road runs smoothly.
As soon as any acceleration is required it misses constantly, and sounds like it has a hole in the exhaust. But the sound isn't coming from the exhaust.

If I put the car in Park and from the engine bay slowly increase the revs it revs fine.
But if I rev it suddenly I hear constant "pop pop pop" noise coming from the air intake. It's like a repetitive back-fire but not as loud as the gun-shot sound you might get from an exhaust backfire.

I've done no trouble-shooting yet, but will start on the weekend.
Just wondering if anyone can point me in the right direction.
Thanks

is yours injected or carby?
3 years ago i had a similar problem same symptoms and not much power going up hill. Turned out after testing everything the injectors showed up as being at fault. Exchange set of injectors and fine and dandy since. Of course there are many other things it could be as well. Fuel pressure also a possibility. Goodluck Vee

First thing I would try is a new set of spark plugs and leads.

Thanks people. It's EFI by the way.
I'll start with ignition leads first.
