Hi everyone,

Have just joined this 380 forum and just wanted to share a 380 fact, not sure if others have got or seen this.
When my 380 VRX 5sp auto is on the road for say 4-5min and it has warmed up a bit, (I don't thrash it when it's frozen) the first and second squirts feel like the engine has a turbo on it, I call it a wrx on steroids, that's how quick it feels.
I can get to 80kms from standstill in under 5 seconds, never achievable when the car has really heated up, say on the road for 15-30min.
Has anyone else experienced this as I find it quite amazing, the engine feels more like 220-230kw, not 175kw.
Even when you give it a squirt in 2nd gear, it pulls you back like there's no tomorrow.
Does anyone know if some mod can be done so the car always has this.
I believe it does at least 20% more than any exhaust or extractors could ever do, that's how good it is.
From 0-80km, I have beaten a 6.0litre VE Calais V by a hole car length and have also wipped the VW R36 Passat which does 0-100 in 6.9sec.
Again, when the car is coolish, I can easily do 0-100 in just under 7 seconds.

Please let me know your thoughts on this?

Cheers.

I'm pretty sure its just you thinking its more powerful, usually when a car is cold it will rev out more, meaning when you floor it while cold itll reach max torque quicker making you feel its quicker... that's just my experience anyways

The colder the air the better the compression. Is that not what a cold air intake is for? Also Im assuming theres an automatic choke that puts the revs a bit higher while the engines cold? Just guessing here...

Should think so. lol Or a rental. lol

Engines that have had little time to warm up properly burn a lot of fuel in order to run smoothly. I bet your fuel consumption is sky high. Not good to go drag racing any takers when the engine has only been running for a few minutes.

Guys, I am going to close this thread down before it becomes a spam fest. I have read some interesting "380 Facts" in my time but this one takes the cake. Richer mixture due to cold motor may count for something but even then I highly doubt it.
