Have found a mechanic with good reputation who says he can change a TF Magna steering rack in 2 hours at $90 ph and is happy for me to supply a rack. There is an eBay seller selling recond TW rack for $280 delivered with 18 months warranty, but the outer tie rods are an extra $60 a pair. Would it take long for the mechanic to change the ones over from the old steering rack or is it easier just to spend the $60 extra? Thanks for any help.

Unless you have new tie rods, tie rod ends and boots on your current rack, you should get new ones sent to you with the rack. Easier for the mechanic too. You will need a wheel alignment after installation.
