Does anyone have a diagram of the drivers window (manual) regulator mechanism?

My window was sticking half way down but a good heave got the winder round and then it went down the rest of the way no problem.

Getting it up was the same, stick half way through and then ok.

Recently it would get stuck half way down and nothing would move it. Only way to get it up again was to pull the glass up and then wind up.

I took the panel off had a look but couldn't see anything wrong. I couldn't remove the two screws to remove the actual glass because being stuck half way down you can't get at the left screw behind the door frame.

I could however see wire hanging from the bracket that screws to the glass. I placed a mirror inside the door and could see a mess of cable under the regulator that looked like my fishing reel does when I cast too hard without the catch on, a birds nest.

Anyone know what my next step should be?

find a replacement regulator.

Well Duuuuh.
What I was getting at was I couldn't get at the second screw that holds the glass to the upright. I removed the screws to the upright and the regulator and with that gone I managed to somehow manouver the glass so I could get the second screw undone. Yep the cables are a real birds nest so new regulator it is.

Well I can't seem to get another regulator for the drivers side. There are plenty for the passenger side and a few power window for the driver side but that's it. Not even the wreckers have the drivers.

Does anyone know if it is possible to modify a passenger side to fit the drivers door? Or is there perhaps another model that will fit?

Well Duuuuh. lol
if you still have to right hand one there see if the cable can be removed. if it can be any left hand cable would be the same length.
i have a couple here spare.

Double Duuuuh huh?
Well there are 4 rivets holding the winder housing and I would need to get those off without ripping my hand apart or damaging the unit. Not too hopeful on either count but I suppose it could be done.
Do your cables have the plastic bits on them that fit to the top and bottom of the regulator because one of mine is broken?

And how much cause I will need to get in plenty of bandages just in case. Blood thinners for heart condition are a bummer when you get a bleed.

Don't matter how I set things I just can't get the forum to email me when there is a reply.
