So for those of you on the facebook page and who have followed my ride thread on here, would be well aware I have just undergone a FULL HID QUAD projector refit. It took a lot of convincing to do this by other local members but I have done it and am now super glad that I did. I have not looked back. Special thanks to Maggie3.5. Lots of phone call, texts and pictures have been sent but we got there.

I went for the Morimoto Mini H1 Bi-Xenon projector with 6000k HID Globes and 35W Ballast. Originally I tried using Angel eyes. But then decided against that, opting for a much more simplistic LED strip down the side of the light. The Angel eyes where good and I loved how they looked when on, but when the headlights were on with them they looked abit meh. By getting rid of the Angel eye, this ment I was able to fit bigger shrouds to cover the projector. I opted for the e46 shroud as it fills the standard parabolic reflector making it look a bit neater and classier. I am also going to try and replace my LED strip for a black strip to make it blend a little better (White was all I had)

I will post some Before, During and After photos. It was really really the more simplest mod. Anyone who tells you otherwise had no idea. Using the Morimoto Mini H1's mean its plug and play in the low beam and minor modification needed for the highbeam. The best part of all, it uses all the factory mounts, adjustment and the lights arent hacked up at the back.

For anyone who has these, they will know the light output is crazy and that it is very addictive. I know Quads aren't really popular. I think there is about 6 of us... 3 380's and 2 Magna's on the forum that have them. But definitely worthwhile.

Looks good - I know nothing about HID lights - so can you just buy a Morimoto Mini H1 kit online and fit up? Interested to see install pics/ process

There's two parts to it: the first is installing the Projectors into the OEM headlight housing (to replace the standard reflector headlights), and the second is installing ballasts/relays/wiring for the HID side of things. Neither of which are super difficult.

I have detailed my build in my Members Machines thread (http://www.aussiemagna.com/forums/showthread.php?t=58568&page=18).
