we have a Dual Fuel TF Sedan which runs fine on Gas however when you try ans start it on fuel it will eventually start and idle but as soon as you put any pressure on the accelerator it immediately stalls

It was running ok and we had been pushing premium unleaded thru it to clean injectors, along with a few bottles of injector cleaner and then one day just refused to start flooded and then backfired, and in doing so blew smoke and presumably a flame out thru the air intake as the filter has a hole burnt thru it ans some of the plastic melted internally around the filter

since then it will only run on gas, and starts happily unless its close to or below 0 it plays up a bit...

the only other weird thing it does is occasionally the front driver side plug lead will get blown up out of its seat and then it runs rough (5 cylinders I assume) push the lead back down to re-seat it and it runs fine again for another few weeks till it decides to do it again..

I havent taken it to a garage yet as i wanted to get a bit of an idea of what the problem may be first prior to getting it serviced and getting a nasty surprise

ive so far considered but not checked the cold air intake sensor, high pressure fuel pump, dried out seals but i dont really know....

can anyone offer any suggestions or advice?

hi well it sounds like the backfire could have also damaged the the air flow sensor , which can make it run rough , also the isc or known as the stepper motor could be playing up , as for the spark plug lead popping up
it could be time to change them as that one might be swelling up to much and as such lifting up out of the seat , if you are over near chadstone i could take a look for you no charge to give advise . and my work prices are low but that does not mean my work is crap , i just don't like to rip people off , and all parts are at trade price . cheers liam
