Hi guys im removing an entire KF XI engine bay loom and dash loom to put it in my TE, one reason is to get cruise, now I came across the diagram here and did not think the inhibitor switch is a piece I need as I haven't found in on the loom of mine that connects to the vacuum pump and whatnot.
Heres said diagram.

Now IIRC all I need was
Vacuum Pump
Cruise T/B
Brake Switch
Clutch Switch
Cruise ECU
Clock Spring
Cruise Wiring Loom
Cruise Stalk (plus button for the TE)
Why is this switch in the diagram, and what models is it for, because like I said I haven't seen it.
Thanks in advance.

Inhibitor switch is part of the gearshift selector. Stops you from activating in neutral or park.

Smart design. Imagine sitting in the driveway, in Park, and selecting cruise and it tries to get the car up to the speed last set. lol Every auto has an inhibitor switch by the way, at the end of the gear selector cable, on top of the gearbox. I imagine it also cuts out cruise if you are driving along on cruise and then nudge the stick into neutral. Haven't tried that myself, but it seems logical.
On non cruise cars it stops you from starting the car if it is not in P or N.

Ah thanks guys, so my 5 speed TE should have the switch anyway even if it doesn't have cruise? Im pulling all the looms out of a KF Xi to have climate and cruise, but I wasnt planning on swapping the Ecu to gear box loom out of the KF because its Auto not manual and I didnt think that part of the loom had anything to do with cruise, but I think I might be wrong.

Apologies, didn't realise that you were looking at a picture of the setup on an AUTOMATIC, while yours is a MANUAL. lol
If your car that you are putting cruise on is manual, then you won't have or need that inhibitor switch as it's part of the auto gearbox. Instead, you will have the switch on the clutch which does the same thing, ie cut cruise when you shift out of gear. Just don't bump the gearstick out of gear while you are driving along on cruise. lol She will hit the rev limiter.

Thanks max that helps alot, also do you know if the ecu loom has anything to do with cruise control? Reason I ask because I'm doing this swap, I've pulled the engine bay loom that connects to the headlightsand vacuum pump and whatnot, I also have the dash loom but I've left the ecu loom behind because it looks like that on the xi it doesnt connect to anything cruise related. Thoughts?
