Has anyone out there done a DIY strut and spring replacement on a TJ front wheel drive magna, how hard is it, or is it worth forking out the quoted $1500 and taking it to a shop?
My intention is to do both front and both rear struts, springs, bump stops etc
I'm fairly technically minded but I've never needed to work on a vehicles suspencion,
Thanks in advance

$1500!!!!!
I hope that includes decent springs and shocks.
The front struts are very easy, wheel off, brake line clip off, undo the 2 knuckle to strut bolts, then the 3 that come up into the engine bay. Done.
Rear struts, wheel off, remove lower shock bolt, then remove parcel shelf carpet and undo the 3 nuts on each side that come up through the chassis.
If you have semi decent quality spring compressors, and compress each side little bit by little bit its all far too easy to do.

They're not especially difficult to fit (though I prefer to not do them myself) and well within the scope of a clued-up DIY-er, though as mentioned before, care must be taken with spring compression.
If you're replacing all struts/springs and bump-stops, consider replacing the front strut tops while you're at it.

Thanks for your replys, I live in a rural area and decent mechanics are few and very far between, so I've decided to go ahead and replace them myself
