Has anyone priced these lately? These quotes below are for standard rotors.
DBA front rotors from Repco =$105-$155 each (depending on who you speak with)
TRW Rear rotors from Repco = $211 each (not pair) They say they can't supply DBA Rear rotors
DBA AutoBarn fronts= $151 each
AutoBarn rears= $160 each
DBA Supercheap fronts = $231 a pair
Supercheap rears = $281 a pair
Brisbane Mitsubishi Dealer quoted $876 to machine 4 rotors & replace 4 pads.
So how come these rotors are so expensive for the Mitsubishi 380?
Seems to me that soon as ever you mention that you need 380 parts, the price is instantly doubled when compared to the other Aussie cars.
Surely there must be some other (common or still in production) vehicle that uses the same size Rotors as the 380 because these prices are ridiculous for standard rotors.

Theyre quite a thick rotor and afaik are only used on the 380 and dont need replaced terribly often.
That quote of $870 for skimming rotora and new pads is outlandish.
Shouldnt cost more then 400!

RDA fronts or rears $100 the pair plus $30.45 postage:

Bundle the two sets and maybe save a bit on postage.

My local brake shop charges about $50 to skim a pair of rotors if you walk in with them.
Most local places work on the assumption you never heard of ebay, and that you are too scared to touch the brakes yourself, so feel justified to quote stupidly high prices. lol
Tell them they are dreaming. lol
Those ebay prices at $100 a pair sounds great though, if you really need new ones.

Have a look at brakesdirect.com.au
$61.88 a rotor delivered for the front:

$59.40 a rotor delivered for the rear:

They also do the QFM HPX pads for $79 a set (front or rear)

GSL Rallysport quoted me $160 each corner for DBA slotted rotors. Just waiting for a quote back on standard rotors.
I am researching brake rotors at the moment and DBA rotors seem to command a decent premium over over brands (including RDA).

Rda rotors are just standard rotors that have bits cut out of them. Dba are much more heat resistant. They cool quicker and last much longer.

Yes DBA command a premium because they are much better.
Though sometimes their price is too much. If you don't track the car I think they are unnecessary

I'm only looking at their entry level T2 slotted rotors. Are they really that much better than the RDA equivalent?

True, their 4000 and 5000 series rotors are probably overkill unless you are very heavy on your brakes - but they don't make them for 380s. According to their catalogue, all they make are a basic OEM replacement rotor, and then a slotted version of same - neither of which would be recommendable for track use.

I have DBA 4000 on my 380 brakes. I dont know about the t2 and similar as I havent used them yet.

DBA from what I've read use better metals than RDA and they are more resilient to warping or cracking.
Also they have this patented "kangaroo paw" ventilation system that draws air in from the center and expels it from the edges as the rotors spins.
I think it all depends how you drive the car. Normal day to day driving even if hard on the brakes RDA should be fine.
If you like to go for fast back road drives and use the brakes heavily I would go the DBA rotors

There is a lot of good general brake discussion in the "Brembo Brake Calipers" thread

Would need to check to see if any price changes but I usually sell new RDA for $105 each front and $115ea rears each
What Mits quoted for a brake job is out of this world, that is one special price for sure

I bought RDA slotted in 2011 from AutoOne for $127 ea, with Bendix HD pads $77
No fade issues, just a little grabby/grumble/shudder noise if the car is allowed to "just" creep at the lights etc in Drive.
We can all find just the right pedal pressure for this to happen but with these it is more difficult to stop it happening. Used to it now so no big deal
Will change to QFM HPX at next pad change

Has anyone else got any thoughts about brake rotors for 380s? I'm looking to order some myself in the next few weeks.

I run the trw rotors with the 380 brake setup on the front of my magna. I am on my 3rd set of pads as I race my magna and the rotors are still fine. They have had lots of hard braking from 180km+ I think they where $240 for the pair from memory. May have been +gst. I never use slotted or drilled.

OK guys thanks very much for the advice
After reading you replies I ended up shopping on eBay & purchased 4 standard RDA disks (front & rears) for $200.
Front & rear Bendix pads (General CT) for $50.00 a set
All up the parts cost me $300 bucks + freight, so the total including freight cost less than $400 bucks. The cheapest quote I could get to machine all 4 rotors ( without pads) was $300,, so even though I have to fit them myself I think that I have come out in front.
The eBay shop I bought them from is called (performancecarpartsonline) they are in VIC & the owner is a decent guy.
Instead of sending five separate packages to me he combined the rotors into two lots so I ended up with only three items which was a much cheaper way of getting them ( heavy but). He didn't have to do this, but like I said he is a decent & helpful person.
EDIT: Are the 380 rotors easy to get off like on the B Series Falcons where when you take the wheels of the rotors fall off on your toes? Or do you need a puller or knockometer to get them loose?

just take the caliper off and the disc slides off. May need a slight tap with a hammer to loosen if it has some surface rust holding it together.

Please dont hit rotors with hammers, this is not how rotors are removed
Each rotor will have a 8mm hole with a 1.25 pitch thread, use a high tensile bolt in each and then tighten them evenly, this will remove the rotor properly

don't use a hammer a knockometer is a much better choice. just use it on the center of the disc obviously over the hub part not the disk outer it wont hurt it as your not reuseing them anyway. btw just tap it don't flog it :-)

+10 This is the best way, all 4 rotors were stuck tight as a fishes Ar$e & this method worked like a charm.
Thanks for the tip Madmagna
