View Full Version : Rear sway bar
Hay all
They no longer have or make the whiteline rear sway bar 22mm adjustable left. But they have the same 22mm in the kit left for magnas that didn't have a sway bar. Will these still fit up fine?
Cheers

What car? The bars should be the same from kit vs no kit.

The 22mm ones that were made for magna's without swaybars will not properly fit on the swaybar factory fitted magna's as the factory sway bar has completely different mounting points. The non-factory fitted swaybars are connected to the trailing arms via d-link shackles and pin themselves to the sub-frame via the back end mounting bolts whereas the factory fitted ones use proper swaybar links and mounts.
There are still some whiteline ones being sold on ebay. e.g. http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/WHITELINE-22mm-REAR-SWAYBAR-MITSUBISHI-MAGNA-TE-TF-TH-TJ-TL-TW-KE-KF-KH-KJ-KL-KW-/160917277667
Otherwise, you might be able to import an aftermarket one from overseas? Andy's Motorsport lists one for a Diamante by "Addco" - my question would be whether the diamante came fitted from factory with a swaybar.

No, the one for the non factory fitted bar is totally different to the one that replaces the factory fitted back end

There's always THESE GUYS (http://www.mako.com.au/ibm_custom/search_html/Custom_Sway_Bar_Group_6A_74.htm) if you were chasing a larger front or rear bar. They did my rear bar on the AWD, paint job was sh!t but I cant fault the bar for quality.
